Designers wanted in Silicon Valley!

I was wrong when I thought that the companies like facebook, Google and like have plenty of designers and if I graduated in computer engineering that would not benefit my society.  When I was about to start my graduation school, I was being suggested by my elders not to opt a technical field like Computer Engineering or IT since there are many computer graduates around me wandering jobless. I had to go for a field that was rarely known in my society. Well that was my personal experience and story the base line is that I thought it is useless to get a degree in technical fields like computer science however the demands of the day proved me wrong.
The field of computer sciences was always in demand. The variation existed in the field of specialization like programmers and encoders were always in high demand but now the time has favored the designers. Designers who put life in a website and Apps and the latest trends in technology like i-phones and tablets make their demand real high in market place. It seems like there are many students who graduated in computer science and computer engineering but there are very less experts who think out of the box. Because, every employer wants creative designers and the designer had to dig his/her own ground to set himself / herself in the world and to fulfill the employers ‘demand.
Manzari who is known as an outstanding user interface designer for more than a century says he receives calls from people asking for good designers. He says that there are many designers but those who are exceptionally good are rare. Just to prove you that there is a huge demand for designers let me share few facts with you.
·         Facebook dig out Dutch software Design Company known as Sofa in June.  It was the first time that the designers get themselves focused just to get hold of its staff.
·         In September, Facebook made a deal with (AAPL and Fortune 500) Mike Matas-interface designer. The deal was to bring talented designers and their team instead of showing their interest in newly designed software for writing e-books.
·         Google tried to buy Facebook creator Morin’s new company i.e. Path for the same reason as indicated by knowledge of that deal. However, Google desired for the Path team’s aesthetics and proficiency in creation of intuitive mobile applications.
·         A company called “Dribble” known as invite-only site for designers who show off their work has become a recruiting hub with currently 25,000 designers on Dribble and more than 60,000 are waiting for their turn.
·         Top two companies i.e. Google and Apple hire designers through Dribble. $ 200 is charged per post for Dribble’s job board that currently broadcast ads from multiple sites like ESPN and facebook etc.
In the end, I will like to share that not only demand but the salaries are also increasing for designers globally.
